Bob Gordon
Creative Director | Director | Cinematographer.
Bob has shot somewhere in the region of 1260 commercials in 42 countries and is honored; his work is on display in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
The question is, how did this all happen?
Bob started in the film business working for his father, who ran an ad agency and television station. As a teenager, he shot films for sports and news shows for the station. He also worked doing fashion stills photography for advertising. What a way to learn the business!
He went on to graduate with a Juris Doctor degree as a lawyer. After graduating from law school, Bob returned to his true passion for filmmaking. First, as a casting director and then teaching acting workshops for commercials. After this, he worked as a Line Producer and ultimately ran his own production company in New York.
Bob then opened a creative service company where he was Creative Director, Director, and Cinematographer for 80 International and National commercials.
He won the first global Heineken campaign with his "Taste the World, Taste Heineken." concept. This campaign launched the director phase of Bob's career.
Bob received the highest film industry recognition when Eastman Kodak chose him to create, direct and shoot a movie to show how great film can look. The result is "Film the Difference," which Kodak is displaying throughout the world in venues including Cannes Film Festival.
Where’s Bob Gordon now?
Living life on the edge of a volcano, creating art where eagles fly or deep in the swamps where alligators hunt.
